Following a varied background as a Marine Corps Officer both on active and reserve duty, a municipal police officer and a deer farm manager, after over twenty years as a state Game Warden, this is has been my main professional identity. As one of the most accomplished in my agency in the realm of law enforcement, I have influenced much needed and overdue culture changes within the agency that makes me proud to be a warden. We are now at the forefront of conservation law enforcement throughout the nation, being exceptionally well equipped and trained, and while those areas are continually improving. As part of the thin green line, I work hand in hand with the thin blue line in protecting the Commonwealth’s precious natural resources as well as public safety and protection of property. I have ensured hunters are properly licensed and safe, and I have apprehended deer poachers at night who were impaired by alcohol or drugs. I have taken a rabid raccoon out of someone’s home, and I have served search warrants in homes of others while seizing illegally taken wildlife and firearms they weren’t allowed to possess as convicted felons. I have cited or warned people for hunting too close to homes or having a loaded rifle in their vehicle, and I took people off the roads and into prison for their second or seventh DUI. I have had a multitude of pleasant or otherwise mutually positive public contacts in the field, and have charged and convicted bad-acting people for felonies.
