Reporting to the shift manager my role is to keep the plant operational by carrying out reactive breakdown cover to ensure plant stays at maximum productivity on a 12hr days and nights shift rotor . Repair and fault finding duties includes, PLC/SCADA & control systems , Cranes, Motors (415v up to 3.3kv) and motor control systems, Conveyor systems, Switch boards, invertors, Lighting, Bucket elevators, Crushers, Magnets and magnet belts, Pumps, Slide gates, Force draft burners, . I also help repair and look after a number of Flow meters, Valves, Temperature sensors, Level sensors, Pressure sensors.

Reporting to the day shift electrical supervisor my role was to carry out planed preventative maintenance (PPM’s) as well as covering breakdowns and following up a root cause analysis I also provide shift cover when needed. Maintenance duties includes, Cranes, Motors (415v up to 3.3kv) and motor control systems, Conveyor systems, Switch boards, invertors, Lighting, Bucket elevators, Crushers, Magnets and magnet belts, Pumps.I also mentored a number of trainee employees/Apprentices at ICL.

My role is to install and commission a large mineral crushing and screening plant which included belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators and a number of different vibrating screens. I installed and commissioned 415v 3 phase motors (both drive and vibrating), motor slip detection switches, Tilt switches and cable pull switches. I also installed stainless steel cable containment both ladder and tray.

In this roll as well as preforming all my normal electrical duties previously with Carillion I am also charge hand/stand in supervisor for a group of 12 electricians. I have a responsibility to organise and manage projects with a large emphasis on safety and gathering risk assessments and method statements via the computers systems. It is also my roll to obtain permits and liaise with senior management to make sure all duties are carried out to a high standard and to the client’s specification. I am also in charge of stock control and ordering parts/materials for forth coming projects. I also installed, maintained and commissioned new lights and lighting DB’s which consisted of glanding and terminating SWA cables, the installation of flood, fluro, LED, bulkhead, emergency twin spots and street lighting (including lamppost erection) to client’s specification and insuring the IP integrity was maintained. I also mentored a number of trainee employees/Apprentices.

In this roll I replace old ladder rack and cable tray with new. Replace and manufacture all unistrut brackets (both stainless and GRP) and to refit cables using stainless steel cables ties. I also had the opportunity to gain experience in working below ground in a confined atmosphere where i carried out periodic lighting and three phase motor tests and inspections up to 3.3kv, it was also my job to identify and repair all defects Testing consisted of insulation resistance, earth fault loop impedance and RCD testing, all results were recorded and logged.

My duties included all aspects of contol panel building overhaul, refurbishment, system simulation, installation and commissioning of panels in compliance with LV and EMC directives. As well as using enclosures suitable for hazardous area applications in compliance with ATEX Directives, reading from electrical drawings, drilling & tapping, installing pvc trunking, tray work, using hydraulic cutting tools and glanding and terminating. I also service and maintained pumps which involved stripping and identifying damaged parts and ordering new and rebuilding and rewiring them

My duties included installation, servicing and repair of spray booths/Ovens which also included the service and repair of force draft burners both gas and fuel oil to a corgi standard .I also installed, serviced and repaired garage equipment such as Infrared heating systems, dust extraction units (including installation of ducting) and workshop heaters all across the UK.
