Over his lighting career, Darren started his journey as a sales representative in the industrial field with Eye Lighting before moving to Thorn Lighting. During this period he specialised in the wholesale, project and outdoor markets progressing into the specification sector. Seeing a unique opportunity to start a business from the ground up, he joined The Lighting Group, opening their operations in Brisbane, working to grow the business to where it is today.Aurora Lighting purchased The Lighting Group in Australia and Darren continued in this role taking on the task of launching the projects division of Aurora into the Australian market.Darren's work has received recognition on award winning projects. This includes The Dandiiri Contact Centre, which won the IES Supreme Brilliance Design Award, IES Excellence Award and Australian Energy Efficiency Design Award. His latest achievement being the major supplier for the GCUH Car Park Facade which has received the Queensland Lighting Design Award of Commendation 2013 at the IESANZ awards night. More recently being recognised at the 2015 IESANZ awards night for his role in the lighting design process/supply for The Lady Cilento Childrens Hospital.Darren's greatest skill is his ability to relate, never forgetting the lessons in life he was taught as an apprentice. He shows everyone courtesy and respect and understands they just want someone to genuinely listen to them.
