Took time out from the career to pursue a range of personal projects, including; Active Day Trading - online platform trading in FTSE 100 constituents on the London Stock Exchange; providing business development advice to a small but expanding locally based hire business, and managing a number of home improvement projects.

Reporting to the Director of Executive Search, I was responsible for spearheading Prospectus’ move into the Public Sector executive recruitment market at a time of significant transformation in the way the Public Sector operates and delivers services to its customers.Established Prospectus’ ‘footprint’ in Local Government executive search via a number of high profile business wins which included: the Director of the first Local Authority commissioned Social Impact Bond (SIB) at Essex County Council. (Joint appointment with Social Finance and joint winner of the ‘Innovation in Finance’ category at the Municipal Journal Achievement Awards in June 2013). Chief Executive, Local Government Information Unit, (LGiU), Chief Information Officer (CIO), City of London Corporation and the new finance ‘top team’ at Canterbury City Council, comprising Director of Resources and Head of Finance.Developed and embedded processes necessary to support the successful delivery of Public Sector executive recruitment mandates.Played a corporate role in winning and delivering high profile executive search mandates in Prospectus’ core markets. These included: Chief Executive, The Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust (a cemetery with a global brand and unique reputation) and the Directors of Finance at the Fairtrade Foundation, Single Homeless Project (SHP) and the Disabilities Trust.Throughout my time in post, I was responsible for the full executive recruitment life-cycle from initial tender through to successful appointment.Wrote a number of articles commenting on recruitment issues relevant to the local authority and wider public sector market.

I spent this time identifying a number of Executive recruitment businesses who were looking to move into the Public Sector and could provide me with the opportunity to take responsibility for developing a revenue stream.

Working in a team of four (Managing Partner, Business Director and Consultants X2) my role had three strands. (1) End to end winning and delivery of high profile and complex Executive Search and Selection assignments. (2) Effective planning and delivery of multiple senior executive recruitment campaigns through taking on a Project Management role. (3) Developing a Finance and Resources specialism within Local Government in London and the South East and profiling this both inside and outside the business.In partnership with my Business Director, successfully delivered one of the premier roles in Public Sector Finance; Chamberlain (Director of Finance and Deputy Chief Executive), City of London Corporation.Successfully project managed the recruitment of the Children’s Services ‘turnaround team’ (7 senior posts) at Wokingham Borough Council, whilst personally delivering two of the roles. Appointed first time to 100% of the Finance and Resources roles that I won.Profiled the Finance and Resources specialism outside of the business and contributed articles in the Municipal Journal and Accountancy Age publications.Acted as the Local Authority representative on an internal corporate working group called ‘Advertising Champions’ that promoted the development of a more strategic approach to media utilisation across the business.

Reporting to a Principal Consultant and working within a team of four; I was responsible for winning new business; developing new and deepening existing client relationships; the end to end delivery of senior executive assignments; project management of multiple recruitment campaigns and career counselling.

Working in a team of nine, reporting to a Managing Consultant my role was to be involved in the end to end delivery of a range of very high profile and complex executive recruitment mandates largely within the Local Authority sector. This involved taking briefings from the client, Members and other stakeholders; the production of information for candidates to support the campaign (advert and information pack); full execution of the executive search element of the process; conducting technical interviews; report writing; referencing and attendance at Member led Final Panels.

Reporting to the Business Director for Public Sector and working with a team of eight Senior Finance and Executive recruiters across all Not-For-Profit sectors, my role involved me in all aspects of project based business development and campaign co-ordination and support.I researched new business opportunities and converted them through setting up client visits for my Business Director and Senior Consultants; arranged for the submission of tenders; regular canvassing of existing clients to deepen recruitment relationships; introducing new clients to the Hays brand; identifying candidates, researching trends and market changes and the movement of key personnel both within and between sectors; sourcing tenders, leads and jobs from websites, managing and maintaining a database of public sector journals tracking adverts and opportunities to develop new business.

Working as part of a team of four my role involved selling in candidates to City Offices and Hays Facilities Managers at various investment banks (SBC Warburg’s, Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, Bankers Trust and BNP Paribas); building relationships with candidates; detailed interviewing of candidates, the development of my own candidate base by attracting new registrations by marketing and advertising; CV preparation; updating candidate details on a regular basis; arranging interviews, providing clients and candidates with feedback; negotiating and tying up offers.
