Darren is a litigation partner in the Chicago office, and is also the firm's Hiring Partner. Darren represents banks, insurance companies, manufacturing companies, bars & restaurants. In his litigation practice, Darren handles a variety of cases, including bodily injury, wrongful death, automobile collisions, premises liability, & employment discrimination. He also handles defamation & privacy matters for the Entertainment, Media, & Privacy Group. Finally, Darren defends restaurants, bars & hotels in litigation matters for the Restaurant, Tavern & Hospitality Group.Darren, the Co-Chair of Amundsen Davis' Cannabis Law Group, is rapidly growing a practice in the cannabis field nationwide & works with retailers, cultivators, infusers, manufacturers, distributors, & entities with connections & business relationships in this exciting & emerging industry. He provides counsel on litigation, corporate, regulatory, & employment issues. Darren also provides legal consulting to a local company that he helped to apply for, and obtain, a license from the State of Illinois DEA for the research of Schedule I drugs Psilocybin and Bufotenine (as well as other controlled substances). He also has worked with companies seeking to become licensed Reverse Distributors of Controlled Substances. Darren continues to help his clients navigate the regulatory aspects of their pursuits, including licensure and compliance in production, research, manufacturing, shipping, and export of these substances. Darren is licensed in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of IL. While in law school at WUSTL, Darren was a student coordinator for the Volunteer Lawyers & Accountants for the Arts, an Officer in the Sports & Ent.
