Daryl is a graduate of the University of Kansas with B.F.A. in Visual Communication and Graphic Design. Her career began at Sunflower Broadband where she produced outreach marketing for the company for 2 years. In 2007 she became Art Director at Kern Marketing Group where she designed websites, logos, brochures, multiple print advertisements and brand identity campaigns for various businesses. In 2011 Kern Marketing Group collaborated to introduce Lawrence Business Magazine where Daryl played a strategic role in developing the branding and creative direction of the magazine in its layout and design. In 2013, Daryl started her own creative marketing firm, Design Brilliance Creative Marketing which focuses on everything from small business branding to large corporation campaigns. 2022 brought change as Daryl transitioned away from her private business and on to leading an in-house creative team that serves as the philanthropic engine for her alma mater, the University of Kansas. She is an award-winning designer including multiple Addy Awards for branding and web design, an A7 award from AIGA KC chapter, and numerous awards and recognition from the University of Kansas. She is a 2013 graduate of the Leadership Lawrence Program and in 2014 Daryl was named Kansas Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Kansas Department of Commerce.
