About Daryl O'Connor

I have been employed in the IT industry since 1981, with experience ranging from LAN/WAN environments, to Minicomputer, PC and Server platforms. I was technical lead on two national roll-outs of IT systems (40 + sites). Other well exercised skills are project management, supplier liaison and team leadership, financial budgeting, hardware and software asset management, as well as design, configuration, monitoring and reporting of IT systems. I regard myself as an IT generalist, with a sound knowledge of IT principles, not just product specific knowledge. My roles have been very diverse and challenging, requiring flexibility and the ability to learn on the fly.I have been responsible for managing large IT environments, from service-desk to purchasing, asset management, fleet management, staff management, service delivery management and reporting.Currently I am enjoying getting my hands dirty in a more technical role, supporting many clients in an MSP role, including a hosted data centre environment as well as many varied desktop and network environments around Australia.
