Successfully managing the property portfolio of over 100 buildings required liaising with head teachers, external contractors and other council departments, to ensure that projects were completed to required standards and obligations, through successful communication and negotiations. This role also comprised managing, coaching and developing a team of three employees· Managed major building projects, frequently valued in excess £500,000, within budget and through to deadline completion by communicating effectively with all parties, and monitoring and controlling each stage in the process.· Advised schools on budget management, capital projects and related issues including remedial actions for maintenance, health and safety and security issues.· Purchasing of revenue items following council procurement and financial procedures. Budget monitoring on a day to day basis and production of the annual accrual statement.· Successfully managed the Big Lottery £825k Youth Activity Centre. Overcame statutory, environmental, archaeological and budget challenges by building effective working relationships with the relevant parties, to ensure that any restrictions were not detrimental to the project.· Secured funding from external sources (Big Lottery, Football Foundation and Central Government Grants), by collating and acquiring all relevant financial information to aid successful negotiations.· Able to demonstrate financial acumen by managing to keep all key projects within budget by accurately reporting fiscal analysis to the council cabinet for approval, and by monitoring, measurement and control.
