I have 31 years experience as an officer of the Mississippi Department of Transportation Enforcement Division. During these years I enforced the state laws and federal regulations pertaining to commercial motor vehicles. I was certified in Part A, B, hazmat, and other bulk inspections by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. I was also a supervisor of up to 25 officers for many years which helped me hone my organizational skills. These many years as an enforcement officer and supervisor also made me learn the skills needed to work well and communicate with others in a professional and courteous manner. I retired from MDOT and became the Safety Manager for J.D. & Billy Hines Trucking (Mississippi terminal) in February of 2021. My duties there included monitoring drivers’ compliance of FMCSA regulations, random inspections of equipment to insure safe operation and meeting of federal and state regulations, handling insurance claims, conducting drug and alcohol testing of employees, and assisting with day to day operations of the terminal.
