An experienced non-executive and exective director and CEO, currently leading the Australian National Maritime Museum, the SeaMuseum as its more colloquially known, showcasing Australia’s relationship with its oceans and waterways as an island nation, shaped by sea. Formerly she was Director of the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament House, Chair of the Council of Australasian Musuem Directors, and a Non Executive Director on a range of boards A fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors She combines over twenty years experience as a leader and strategic thinking at CEO,non-executive director and senior manager levels in the museum, broadcast, digital media and cultural sectors, in for-profit, not-for profit or government owned organisations. A key highlight was the research initiative Democracy 2025, with Canberra University’s Institute of Governance and Policy Analysis, focusing on trust and democratic satisfaction. At Film Australia, one of Australia’s largest producers of documentaries and education programs, she repositioned the company as an industry leader, introducing new areas of activity, and doubling revenue. Between 2001-2004 she returned to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as Head of Television Factual Programs. Prior to this she was Head of ABC’s Science and Documentaries Department, and then Head of Science of Features Departments at the ABC, with a detour into the private sector for a dot-com start-up in the 90's. As Head of the Science Unit in the early 90’s, she oversaw the first ABC website and continues to work at the cutting edge of digital media.
