I am thrilled to be part of the leadership team at Crossfire - working with an extremely talented and dynamic group of fire engineers on some exciting projects. The focus of my role is on technical leadership, guiding the team, and leading delivery on various projects.Recently acquired by Jensen Hughes, Crossfire is now part of a global network of fire engineering and life safety expertise, and an important facet of the Jensen Hughes Pacific Region.

The purpose of New Zealand Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers is to:To advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high ethical standard among its members, to develop fire protection engineering guidelines and standards and to foster fire protection engineering education.In accomplishing this purpose, the Society engages in activities that are educational, scientific, charitable or promote the practice of fire protection engineering. I am proud to have been recently appointed as a Beca Technical Fellow, in the field of Fire Engineering. According to David Carter, Group Director - Practice Development, the title of Technical Fellow is all about recognising and continuing to embed a sustained commitment to excellence among Beca’s technical leaders and future leaders. "Our new Technical Fellows set a benchmark for providing consistently excellent and future-focused standards for others. It is a great pleasure to be able to recognise their achievements and acknowledge the tremendous contribution they continue to make in their respective fields and within the wider industry."Being elevated to the status of technical leaders serves both to celebrate technical excellence (providing an aspiration for Beca’s up and coming leaders) as well as identifying us as the ‘go to’ people within the Beca Group for clients, both internal and external, seeking senior specialist advice. We are tasked with setting consistent and future-focussed technical standards for Beca as well as enabling technical innovation wherever possible. We will also provide commentary for Beca in their field of expertise and mentoring where appropriate.

I am excited to be part of the technical leadership team for one of the leading fire engineering teams in the Asia Pacific region. We specialise in large, complex performance based fire and life safety engineering design and are proud to have successfully completed some of New Zealand's landmark projects across a range of sectors.Our team features specialist expertise in a number of fields of fire and fire protection engineering as well as a wealth of experience across some fantastic projects throughout New Zealand, Australia and SE Asia. We have also worked hard to develop a powerful technology base to both collaborate across our national team, and conduct state of the art assessment and analysis of fire engineering design.
