I was a Residence Don at Chestnut Residence, University of Toronto during 2021-2022 academic year. I was responsible for developing and fostering a cohesive, respectful and safe residence community. I planned and implemented various monthly events focusing on personal, academic and community development for my floor community compromising of 51 students.

I am a Teaching Assistant for APS100: Orientation to Engineering course at University of Toronto. I am responsible for preparing weekly lesson plans and presentations, and facilitating tutorials for 37 first year students to foster positive learning community among students.

I interned at Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Pickering where I was part of a small (3-4 members), yet dynamic and cross-functional engineering team focused on addressing high priority and emergent issues at the Nuclear Station. My day-to-day responsibilities included removal of engineering barriers to support emergent repair work, investigating cause of equipment failures, performing frequent field walkdowns to support operations and maintenance team and attending daily as well as weekly meetings on behalf of my section. I was also a System Engineer (SE) for Emergency Mitigation Equipment (EME) throughout my work term. I really enjoyed and thrived during my 12-month internship at OPG, Pickering, and since then, I have wanted to pursue a career in energy sector especially nuclear.

As a Peer Career Advisor, I have provided career counseling to 94 students including writing resumes and cover letters while proactively managing their expectations. I interacted with students with diverse backgrounds and qualifications and learned to tailor my approach to problem-solving for each of their unique individual needs which helped me develop my ability to work with clients and staff at all levels. I also undertook projects such as ‘Job Club Peer Facilitator’ and ‘Career Chats peer facilitator’ to further enhance my facilitation and leadership skills.
