Steve Cooley owns and operates Steve Cooley & Associates, Inc., a boutique professional consultancy based in the greater Los Angeles area serving individuals and corporate clientele in matters of business strategy and problem solving.Additionally, Steve serves as the Chief Legal Counsel at Global Holdings, Inc.Prior to SC&A, Steve was the first District Attorney of Los Angeles County elected to three consecutive terms in over 70 years. He led the nation's largest local prosecutorial agency from 2000-2012 with responsibility for approximately 1000 attorneys, 300 peace officers, and 600 support staff. Policy and justice system achievement highlights include revising the LA DA Three Strikes policy which was later mirrored via statewide initiative in 2012, establishing new divisions within the office to pursue public and justice system corruption, advancing the use of DNA and forensic sciences locally and statewide, and bringing to justice numerous violent criminals who fled across international borders.Starting as a law clerk in 1973, Steve spent 27 years working up through the ranks as a Deputy District Attorney. He amassed a depth of criminal trial experience before serving in numerous management assignments as a Head Deputy District Attorney before his historic election in 2000.Steve also served six years as a reserve LAPD officer in the early 70s.
