As the Japan Community Lead for Canva, I focus on developing the business user community, nurturing and activating Education and Canva Creator community, and empowering the world to design through these communities.Previously, I worked as a pre-sales engineer for the visual analytics tool Tableau, where I shared skills and the vision of the product with users and supported a community that connected those individuals. This led to the creation of the fully autonomous "DATA Saber" program, which become self-driven community. Thanks to the efforts of my mentees, this community has now grown to over 2,300 members. It is not just a technically focused group, but rather a unique program that nurtures members who resonate with the product's vision and principles, truly fostering organizational transformation.Recognized for my ability to convey product vision and cultivate a strong community, I joined Snowflake Japan when it had only a few members. Initially, I served as a sales engineer while establishing the unique "SnowVillage" community. Later, I took on a dedicated role as a product marketer to spread the product's vision. By adhering to my beliefs and conveying the product's worldview through community engagement, I established a model role where community development became integral for product marketers in the Asia-Pacific region.Snowflake is an advanced cloud-native data platform, capable of collaboration across different organizations and evolving into an application and AI platform. It is absolutely great product but on the other hand it is hard to understand what Snowflake is. Despite its complexity, I effectively communicated the concept of the "AI Data Cloud" and nurtured a self-driving community, playing a crucial role in the growth of Snowflake in Japan.I continue to contribute to the community, having been recognized as a Tableau Visionary for three consecutive years since 2022, inspiring the Tableau community DataFam. Also I regularly share influential content in Japan's largest community marketing group, #CMC_Meetup.Before encountering community work with Tableau, I served as a project manager and product trainer for information systems like BI and ETL at Mitsubishi Group's major SIer.
