Dato’ Ong Eng Bin is the Adviser to the Chairman of OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, having most recently served as CEO from 2014 until 2022. He has been with the Bank for 33 years. In the early 1990s, he headed the credit and marketing functions of a branch before joining the corporate banking division. In 2004, he was appointed Head of Corporate Banking & Large Corporates, before being promoted to Head of Business Banking in 2012, with responsibilities covering corporate and commercial, emerging business and transaction banking. Prior to OCBC Bank, he worked for two years in Price Waterhouse. Apart from his role in OCBC Bank, Dato’ Ong is the Chairman of Pac Lease Sdn Bhd, and a non-executive director of e2 Power Sdn Bhd and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd. He is also a Council Member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers in Malaysia and a board member of the Asian Banking School. He also served as the Adviser of Persatuan Kebajikan 88 Kapten Pulau Pinang, the Vice-President of Persatuan Shing An Selangor & KL and a Governor of the Methodist Boys' School, Penang.
