Kaskaskia Tool & Machine, Inc. (KTM) is a wholly owned business locatedat 107 South Benton Street in New Athens, IL. KTM was started in 1970 to provide high quality tooling to area manufacturers. Today as a contract maufacturer of machined components and assemblies, KTM uses state-of-the-art- technology in expanded facilities to fulfill even the industry’s most complex requirements in the manufacturing of custom metal products, large or small. Beginning with a customer’s part print, our team works to produce a product which adheres to specifications while utilizing efficient and reliable production processes.Through the use of continuously updated CAD / CAM systems, accurate work drawings, programs and process sheets are developed for use on the production floor. Detailed CMM inspection assures that requirements are met or exceeded from the beginning of the manufacturing process through delivery. Only when our customer is satisfied do we feel our job is complete.KTM utilizes a 30,000 square foot facility serviced by overhead cranes with up to ten-ton capacity. A team of highly skilled machinists and fabricators operate an array of specialized manufacturing equipment. This includes more than 13 CNC machining centers both vertical and horizontal, several with rotary pallet changer, a high capacity CNC turning center, large horizontal boring mills with 8ft x 12 ft capacity, a submerged wire EDM, CNC flame and plasma burning table and numerous TIG and MIG welding machines. We are also equipped with rotary 129” Blanchard type grinders and 159” Mattison surface grinder that is the largest in the region. In order to ensure quick job turnaround KTM employs a work force consisting of 30 personnel on two shifts.
