Site lead for two large change programmes: the first used Kotter’s 8 step change model to develop and implement an organisational wide transformation programme developed alongside broader commissioners and other partner organisations. Part of the approach included the use of Cap Gemini’s Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE) to align around the vision. This led to improvement through data being created at organisation, division, directorate, specialty and Consultant/profit centre level all aligned to the organisations prioritised metrics; the second was at a large London teaching hospital where we transformed outpatients. This included resetting the templates of the largest 17 specialties to standardise on new/follow up times and ratios. This work also used Lean production cells to massively improve productivity and turnaround times whilst reducing errors in the blood laboratories. Further work reduced demand for diagnostics by comparing ordering practices and agreeing standards. -
