Personal assignments included: becoming interim Director of Organisational Design and Development for an NHS Trust; taking the reins of a Strategic Reconfiguration programme for 6 months as it transitioned from one Executive SRO to the future SRO; delivery of benchmarking led performance improvement to deliver £40m of savings, helping the organisation to secure its new hospital business case.

Hospital Transformation Lead - Shaped Cap Gemini's hospital transformation approach in the UK and part of the European development team. Site lead for two large change programmes: the first used Kotter’s 8 step change model to develop and implement an organisational wide transformation programme developed alongside broader commissioners and other partner organisations. Part of the approach included the use of Cap Gemini’s Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE) to align around the vision. This led to improvement through data being created at organisation, division, directorate, specialty and Consultant/profit centre level all aligned to the organisations prioritised metrics; the second was at a large London teaching hospital where we transformed outpatients. This included resetting the templates of the largest 17 specialties to standardise on new/follow up times and ratios. This work also used Lean production cells to massively improve productivity and turnaround times whilst reducing errors in the blood laboratories. Further work reduced demand for diagnostics by comparing ordering practices and agreeing standards.

Led 3 large change programmes at acute hospitals/FTs covering a wide variety of specific projects including: demand and capacity; job planning and medical productivity; theatres; pathology; orthopaedics etc Supported National organisation in redefining and aligning its Executive team to a new strategy. Advised DH on potential models for Transforming Community Services.

Worked for KPMG Consulting initially and subsequently Atos Consulting post its acquisition of KPMG Consulting on a wide range of Performance Improvement projects. Recognised for connecting Atos Consulting's Lean practice with the Health market. Atos lead for the Transforming Care programme across Buckinghamshire that won best adapt, adopt and improve award as part of the South Central SHA Health and Social Care Awards. This work was also a finalist for Success in Partnership Working.
