To reconcile balance sheet values and maintain the integrity of balance sheets across all companies. During the contract I was tasked to review and analyse the current service charge systems and procedures with the view to help with the future plans to update and automate the processes.

Reporting to the Finance Director, I was responsible for the whole Finance department and all aspects of accounting including:• Team Leadership: managing the day-to-day operation of the Accounts department (12 – 16 staff)..• Production and review of management accounts (inc P&L by department, channel and location) and month end reporting to extremely tight deadlines. • Business partnering Departmental Managers with respect to their actual monthly results with variance analysis to budgets/last year and full cost analysis.• Statutory accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and review, VAT returns, P11d’s, Government statistical returns, employee expenses system, ad-hoc reporting and reviews, fixed assets register and control, payment processes. Key Achievements:• Restructured month end processes to enable completion on workday 2 after month end.• Selected, tested and implemented a new Employee expenses system within 6 weeks. • Following the takeover of the company in mid 2015 by Unilever, I helped restructure the way the Finance department operated to meet Unilever’s regulations and methodology.Previous positions:Finance Manager (5 staff)Management Accountant

Contract position to create Vendor Sale documentation covering:• Managed the production of Vendor Sale documentation with respect to the accounting analysis of their profitable overseas divisions (250 sites in 20 countries) to enable their eventual disposal. • Developed a structure to extract accounting information, both historical and projected, from data held in numerous Excel spreadsheets as well as production of Cash Flows from incomplete records. Once developed, I employed a team of 4 temporary staff to complete the task within a strict timescale. All extracted data was fully reconciled to the historical Group Accounts.• Group consolidation of monthly accounts towards the end of the contract.

Reporting to the Financial Director, I was responsible for all aspects of Financial Accounting including management accounts, ad hoc reporting, year end accounting, all financial ledgers, payroll, VAT returns, insurance, pensions, company cars and supervision of the accounting and Warehousing/Purchasing departments. Achievements:• Implemented Mach 4 Financials into new combined organisation• Successfully completed 2 sets of accounts each year, all year end employment returns and the introduction of a new reporting scheme for the new owners. • Reorganised Offices to allow for a new subsidiary to be accommodated.• Heavily involved in the operation of their subsidiary company selling SAP between 1999-2002 including developing strategy, accounting and administration. Reported to their Managing Director and sat on the monthly Board meetings.• Heavily involved in sale of company, including due diligence.
