Global Renewables Operations Ltd began waste Treatment operations in 2010 and has the capability to process 170,000 tonnes of household waste through MBT and 55,000 tonnes of green waste through in-vessel composting. The Thornton waste Recovery Park treats the household waste arising from Blackpool, Fylde, Lancaster and Wyre. Lancashire Authority working in partnership with Blackpool Authority and 13 separate District Councils developed the PFI contract to provide waste Treatment services to 1.4 million people of Lancashire. The technology is MBT on two waste Technology parks. The PFI contract is worth £2 billion over a 25 year contract period.As PFI Operations Manager i was:- •Responsible for ensuring that services provided by the contractor comply with the Authorities PFI Project Agreement and Service Delivery Plans. • Management of the PFI contractor’s Operating Procedures written to fulfil the Service Delivery plans.•Develop the Authority procedures to monitor the PFI Contractors performance.•Monitoring of all operational activities which are required to operate the Treatment Facilities efficiently with minimum impact on the Environment.•Develop procedures to evaluate the PFI Contractors reports, confirming an accurate reflection of operational activities.•Evaluation of contract payments in the region of £50 million per year.•Feed any financial performance deductions into the monthly payment mechanism.•Working in partnership with Blackpool Authority and 13 District councils.
