•Design / implement cost-effective remuneration systems / structures with appropriate benefits according to industry best practice.•Continuously audit / improve remuneration systems to prevent fraud being perpetrated. •Conduct legislative reviews on payroll systems, review related human resources documentation, preparation of reports to management explaining all findings•Draft operational process user guides in the remuneration / benefits fields for clients to implement in their businesses•Consult and advise customers on Employees Tax, Skills Development Levy, UIF or Workmans Compensation issues•Liaise with statutory bodies such as the South African Revenue Services, UIF Commissioner, Regional Services Board, and Skills Development Levies Commissioner on behalf of the company and clients•Identify areas of legislative non-compliance in the human resources field that is linked to payroll and established benefit systems.•Provide training and development to both clients and employees in terms of suitable remuneration structures, legislative compliance updates and concerns and assist in identifying areas of risk.•Manage the third party payment and benefits system and division (currently supplies such services to approximately 450 payroll clients).•Identify appropriate retirement and risk funds that will best benefit employees / clients •Liaise with Bargaining Councils, Unions, Medical Aids and Retirement Funds regarding payments and reporting formats. •Ensure profitability of division and provide quarterly reports as to the performance of the division and identify areas of concern in terms of weaknesses and threats. Identify opportunities that will keep the company ahead of the competition (sustain its competitive advantage). •Represent company at the Payroll Authors Group, providing feedback to company and clients in terms of legislative and system updates, industry best practice and raising concerns regarding legislative and system challenges.

•Conducting risk profiling on companies to identify audit targets•Identifying system risks at companies with a view of auditing such entities•The conducting of both field and desk audits on businesses tax systems•Leading investigations into export fraud and assisting the Commercial Crime Unit in obtaining successful convictions against perpetrators•Conducting Income Tax desk audits on companies after reviewing the annual financial statements and identifying legislative risk•Conducting Employees Tax audits on companies to identify cases where companies have omitted to tax remuneration in terms of the Income Tax Act•Undertake in-depth audits using integrated audit software on companies whose turnover exceeds R 30 million per annum as part of a 5-man team•Manage audit teams in terms of preparation, conducting and finalisation of audits•Manage audit teams development in terms of skills, qualifications and audit performance•Manage disputes between auditors and taxpayers•Deal with disciplinary issues relating to auditors under management.
