Infrastructure Administrator
Current• Order, install, configure, and maintain applications and system infrastructure hardware• Evaluate user needs and determine application, hardware and software requirements• Provide technical support and training to clients in various corporate software applications• Participate on various project committees to evaluate proposals and make decisions/recommendations• Ensure the protection of City business critical systems and assist in developing disaster recovery plans to support business continuity• Install, configure and manage ThinClient delivery of Virtual desktop environments and applications to end users• Install, configure and manage the corporate VOIP unified telecommunication system• Install, configure and manage the Remote access virtual environment• Respond to enquiries and complaints from staff regarding application and hardware related issues• Resolve software and hardware related issues in a multi-platform, multi-site environment. This includes: responding to clients, troubleshooting the problem, implementing the solution, documenting the process, and providing follow up with the client• Liaise with vendors and contractors, and provide technical information to staff and external agencies• Schedule, monitor and provide quality control for work done by vendors and contractors• Develop and maintain clear and concise system documentation• Ensure uniformity of City standards for hardware and software, setup and use• Provide backup support and fill in for other positions in the department
