The job requires me to have advanced theoretical, and practical and procedural knowledge across specialist areas that covers, Children’s Services, relation to child welfare & transport aspects, plus having detailed knowledge of the associated organisational policies, practices and procedures that relates to the various aspect of my role,Deputise for the manager and support the strategic development of the Children’s Transport Service; This has varied functions:• Manage the Transport Risk Assessment system• Responsibility for aspect's of Financial Resources• Investigate and resolve complaints from pupils, parents, schools etc• Carry out on-site advisory visits to schools and colleges.• Management and investigation of serious complaints to successful outcome• Monitor compliance with the Transport Contract and investigate non-compliance.• Lead in child protection for Education Transport including proactive advice to service providers on CP procedures in the event of a complaint.• Responsible for authorisation of invoices• Chair meeting • Management of 12 LEA staff, including direct supervision & PRDs• Development and delivery of training for escorts and drivers• Development and writing of individual care plans • Attendance at various meeting to representing the service• Member SEN Panel Assessment Panel• Lead officer for the transport service DBSs , and following any issue’s that may rise from the disclosures• Writing and supporting the deployment of policy’s • Member of Dudley MBC Disaster Management Team • Part of the Tendering process / interview • Development of Post 16 transport support

I was responsible for the management of the Education Welfare Service, which involved being the lead agency on behalf of the Directorate of Education & Lifelong Learning that delivers a service in relation to school attendance and other related welfare issues. Whilst in this position I’ve was instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that was recognised by the OFSTED inspection, in raising the grade from 6 to a 4. Since the last inspection the service continued to develop and I implement strategies that where recognized by schools both in surveys and school performance groups and nationally with the continue improvement with Dudley school attendance
