I’m fascinated by how people learn. I have been since I first stepped into a classroom as a Student Teacher. Since that day, I have positively impacted hundreds of children’s lives working across 3 Primary Schools. When I swapped the classroom for working in Higher Education, I used the lessons learnt from teaching to develop digital pedagogical practices and drive improvement in Student experience. As well as having a minor obsession with learning, there are some other things about me:• I am positive by default, but not in the painted-on smile and inspirational quotes kind of way. I assume positive intent when interacting with others, give credit when a job has been done well and enjoy hearing success stories of my colleagues.• I care deeply about inclusion, which is why I am heavily invested in digital accessibility.• I enjoy planning and developing strategy• An old headteacher once reminded me that ‘It’s never the wrong time to do the right thing’. Even though that’s not always easy, I know that he was right.• I know how to get the best out of people.• My job does not define me. I like it that I’ve been good at the jobs that I’ve done and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, but it’s only one piece of the overall jigsaw.
