My style is focused upon situational leadership, gauging and adapting to the circumstance and individual to achieve the best outcome. This enables me to support, motivate and develop my team to achieve their potential. As a leader I believe you must always role model the correct behaviour and encourage others to do the same. I pride myself on being an authentic and genuine person. My current role is a Clinical Lead within NHS England. In this role one of my key priorities is to lead on the development of a national strategy to improve the resilience and leadership capabilities of the infection, prevention and control (IPC) workforce across the NHS in England. To achieve this I adopted a multi-modal approach to establish the required information. This included a high level of workforce engagement and stakeholder collaboration to fully understand the needs of the service. Through this approach we created genuine partnership working and enabled co-design of the Workforce & Education Strategy. Collectively we developed a strategy that will build a resilient workforce with the capacity and capability to improve the quality of IPC practice, protecting our staff and patients. This role requires excellent communication, collaboration and networking skills as it is essential to develop and maintain positive working relationships across the health and social care systems, to enable and influence safer patient, staff and public outcomes.I am highly motivated to perform to the highest possible standards and I achieve this by continually developing my knowledge and skills. I am a registered healthcare professional, educated to Masters level in Advanced Clinical Practice and Patient Assessment. I am passionate about patient safety and the quality of care we provide. I am currently undertaking the highly acclaimed NHS Leadership Academy Nye Bevan Executive Healthcare Leadership programme.
