    After the successful decommissioning of Runcorn Data Centre I was asked to move directly onto the Data Centre Migration Programme, tasked with the onsite coordination of the migration/decommission of Barclays 2nd largest data centre in Greenford, London (IBM Owned building) and the decommissioning of infrastructures in Poole & Basingstoke.• Creation and ownership of detailed asset list of 5000+ Servers/Assets/Workloads, This list was the primary control method used by all members of the Migration Programme• Control of the movement of assets to two strategic Data Centres in Slough and Gloucester• Creation and ownership of an equipment recycling process which ran at zero cost to the bank• Planning and coordination of the removal of 474 racks and equipment • Took control of the onsite team and moved them into the decommissioning/migration team• Took control of the technical relationship with IBM• Planning and control of the secure disposal of storage media including several thousand hard disks

    While continuing to run the Data Centre I moved onto the Data Centre Migration Programme, The purpose of the DC Migration Programme was to transfer all Barclays technology infrastructure out of non-strategic and third party sites into two strategic Data Centres in Slough and Gloucester. I changed the roles of my onsite team to work on the migration/decommissioning of Runcorn and brought in additional contractors to assist with the decommissioning activities and co-ordination of third party companies.• Creation and ownership of detailed asset list of 4000+ Servers/Assets/Workloads used by all members of the Migration Programme• Planning and coordination of the removal of 300 racks and equipment • Interface with moving companies • Interface with approved recycling companies• Planning and removal cabling/racks from site • Planning and control of the secure disposal of storage media including several thousand disks
