Responsibilities include: Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating Active Duty patients. Selected as Command Radiation Safety Officer. Emergency Disaster Preparedness Officer. Daily supervision a Navy Family Practice clinic composed of Sailors and civilian medical professional. Daily interaction with physicians and nurses facilitating courses related to patients and patient care. Responsible for staff entering data into the electronic medical record.  Served as Senior Enlisted Leader directly representing the commander, communicating the commander's goals and direction to the enlisted workforce as well as representing the enlisted personnel's views and concerns to the commander. Conducted semi-annual performance evaluations and provided counsel to staff on performance improvement strategies. Led team to a successful Joint Commission Re-accreditation in 2014. Performed as Radiation Health Officer. Independently responsible for the health and wellness of sailors in port and at sea, additionally served as the Radiation Health Officer.Responsibilities include: Greet patients and take personal histories, perform examinations, order laboratory tests, x-rays and other diagnostic procedures Routinely view, interpret and print radiology studies to support clinical diagnosis Evaluate patients’ physical and mental health; refer patients to specialists where appropriate Prescribe and administer medications and treatments Perform routine surgery, such as primary closure techniques (suturing), ingrown toenail removal, skin lesion biopsies and removal of foreign bodies from eyes, ears or wounds Provide emergency care for acute coronary syndrome and Inoculate patients Perform skin cancer checks and minor surgical procedures, as required Inform governmental authorities about reportable diseases Advise patients about strategies for maintaining optimal health, including disease and accident prevention
