Respond to calls for service including crashes, medicals, weather and alarms. Assist other firefighters and patients as directed or as training dictates. Attend weekly training sessions with the department as well as training offered by other departments if available. Maintain equipment and vehicles, familiarization of trucks and equipment placement critical to timely assistance to those who need it. Attend local events with the department such as parades, open houses and block parties. Be visible in the community and lend assistance when able. Maintain accurate training records and employee file. Weekly use of firefighting equipment such as turnout gear, SCBA, ladder and engine trucks, hose line, tools and some medical equipment.

Operator of plant security and communications center.

Supervised up to 60 inmates in a unit, single officer per unit in a maximum security county jail. Used IPC skills and progressive discipline to achieve compliance with inmates. Assisted other staff with inmate movement. Used restraints and use of force techniques on uncooperative inmates and new bookings during certain situations. Carried but did not deploy chemical agent, used radio and phone to communicate with other officers and jail units. Use of JMS (Jail Management Systems) and RMS to perform warrant and civil searches on inmates and the public visiting the facility.

Maintain security for clients in designated buildings and surrounding area through foot patrols and the use of extensive security camera systems and card access systems including C*Cure and ProWatch. Observe and report any incidents involving client employees, the public or other security personnel or property. Complete detailed daily activity, incident and dispatch reports. Maintain a professional appearance, uniform and public relations position at all times. Daily use of Excel and Word documents as well as written forms. Also daily use of 800 MHz radio and analog radio systems, multi-line phones, cell phone, digital cameras and security CCTV and card access systems, building fire and elevator system. Basic control of fire panel when system needs to be put in test for construction or testing, dispatch engineering or system specialists when required. Maintain secure key boxes, issuing cards and keys only with valid ID and pre-notification. Continuous familiarization of building and tenant habits, regular skyway users and contractors and rules regarding building work. Also responsible for updating tenant rosters phone lists, emergency contact lists, security job aids and the procedural manual given to the team by the client. From September to August 2010 I was a Float officer working atmultiple accounts on a flex and on-call schedule.

Loading and unloading of containers from trucks and aircraft, loading and unloading freight from trucks and containers, operate aircraft ground support equipment on and around our aircraft. Assist other workgroups when needed. Responsible for preparing aircraft load and un-load operations while directing others to complete each function in a quick, safe and efficient manner. Double check all numbers and load orders with a minimum of two other employees working that particular flight. Must maintain all relevant training and be knowledgeable about all aspects of the operations as workgroup assignments vary from day to day. Sign all area and equipment checks assigned. Daily use of a radio and scanning devices.

Patrol of public roadways in a marked squad. Responded to calls for service both routine and emergency in a safe and responsible manner in various weather conditions, including controlling, investigating & writing crashes, assisting the motoring public and other agencies, traffic control, pursuits, medicals, vehicle searches & seizures & transports. I warned, cited or arrested violators based on the circumstances of the situation and the violation of the federal, state and local laws. Lawful searches of individuals, possessions or vehicles according to policy & statute. Completion of paperwork including daily activity report in Excel, citations & warnings, detailed arrest reports, tow sheets, yellow tags, property inventory forms, DUI reports, implied consent forms, booking sheets for Dakota, Washington and Ramsey counties and other hard copy forms as required by the department. I maintained issued firearms & equipment including tactical rifle, service pistol, Taser, chemical, baton, cuffs and all uniforms & duty gear. Maintain professional appearance in uniform & attitude while having positive, respectful, tactful and constructive contact with the motoring public to change behavior. I utilized verbal judo daily with the public as well when questioning behavior. Squad emergency equipment including lights, sirens, PBT, tint meter, radar, Lidar, onboard computer (Dell Toughbook), 800 MHz and analog radios and scanners, digital camera, CJIS, DVS, RMS, I-Leads and DPS systems, RCA2000 checks, online and computerized statute resources. In addition, I received training in the use of the Intoxilyzer from the BCA, Taser, PIT technique and use, riot and crowd control, identification of controlled substances, hazardous materials and the use of chemical deterrents. I am also a First Responder with the Hepatitis B shot series.

Inspection & loading of all Dangerous Goods freight from the Metro market, preparation of regulatory paperwork for departing trucks & aircraft, clean-up of spilled & leaking freight and completion of regulatory reports, disposal paperwork & return documents. Worked with FAA, TSA, internal departments & law enforcement on spills, undeclared Haz Mat shipments or suspicious/flagged shipments. Supervisor for five part time Spill Agents. Responsible for scheduling, shift duty management, supply ordering and the training new specialists. Worked with metro station specialists & management on processes & logistics with Haz Mat operations & loading. Fielded calls & personal contacts from customers & other specialists from our region. Tracked multiple bulletin boards for the department. Active on the Safety Team until being elected Safety Team Leader for the shift about 2003. Handled bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly & yearly safety audits for safety, first aid and Dangerous Goods, planned and executed monthly safety meetings, incident review board meetings and ordered all facility safety supplies. Initiated many projects through meetings such as larger and better placed first aid boxes, reduced spending for supplies, updated & submitted the emergency response plan for the building to the MAC, coordinating first aid and CPR training and getting an AED for the facility. Voluntary participation in all of the required annual and biannual training both for the Safety position and first aid/CPR. I was asked to cover the Environmental Coordinator spot for the night shift, assisting the primary coordinator with monthly, quarterly and yearly audits, training, regulatory permits, disposals and manifest filing. Frequent or daily use of Excel and Word spreadsheets and forms, used both systems to create job aids and daily use forms for operations. Trained as a straight truck driver and received my class B CDL with a Haz Mat endorsement and drove as a bulk/sweep swing driver.

Trained on and drove all local driving assets at the station including S-10 pickups, Econoline cargo vans, W500 & W700 trucks as well as cube vans as a pick-up courier with customer contact. I was one of two station swing drivers with knowledge of all routes in station. Trained and assisted newer couriers and extra help from other stations. I was the stations Dangerous Goods/Spill Clean-up specialist and inspected and loaded all Haz Mat shipments out of our station. I completed all completing all regulatory paperwork required for ground and air movement of the Dangerous Goods, cleaned up any spilled or leaking packages and completed spill reports and any other regulatory paperwork for returning freight. Also worked with the FAA, internal regulatory departments and local law enforcement on undeclared shipments and spills which resulted in fines and other legal embargos. I was also active on the stations safety team. Assisted front customer service counter when needed, and also trained and assisted the ramp Dangerous Goods operations

This volunteer opportunity came through the Wisconsin Conservation Corps as our crew was attached to and worked closely with the USFS office in Washburn. We attended fire fighter training put on by the USFS and were certified at the federal level and issued Red Cards. I was required to maintain the firefighting equipment issued to me and keep it in my car at all times. Respond to radio and phone dispatches to assist fire crews on the line as well as participation in controlled burns. I was assigned whatever tasks were required of me including based on the most current situational awareness and information traffic control and/or redirection, fire line cutting, tree felling, back burning, water transport, fire and hot spot control and I assisted in fire tower maintenance checks and resupply.

General construction and building on civil and government projects including the Great Lakes Welcome Center and a USFS horse camp. I worked on environmental conservation projects such as trail and park facility maintenance, tree planting, seed collection and critical habitat restoration. We did on site installation of cord and board walk on Madeline Island and assisted DNR officers with some Beaver removal and deer surveying. We attended training including first aid/CPR, wilderness, emergency and winter survival, small engine repair, basic construction methods and forest fire fighting. We patrolled state and national parks in the area of Northern Wisconsin in a USFS vehicle while working, observing visitors, watching for violators and acting as a fire watch and maintenance crew. As we were attached to the USFS, we used their vehicles and equipment.

Monitor the campus phone switchboard and assist callers with information, directions, phone numbers or transfers. Assist visitors to the campus with information and directions. I also assisted the business office with filing, data entry using Excel and Word, payment receipt and phones.

Mowing fairways and rough using different mowers based on the grass length and area, grooming bunkers, flooding and water control, collect and wash range balls, assist golfers, maintain equipment and machinery, sod and grass repair, planting and other landscaping as well as pest control.

Merchandise and product stocking and sales, supply truck unloading, nursery stock sales, watering, cleaning, training on product and landscaping, worked the till, assisted with store opening and closing and also did some landscaping with the crews at customer sites.
