Patrol of public roadways in a marked squad. Responded to calls for service both routine and emergency in a safe and responsible manner in various weather conditions, including controlling, investigating & writing crashes, assisting the motoring public and other agencies, traffic control, pursuits, medicals, vehicle searches & seizures & transports. I warned, cited or arrested violators based on the circumstances of the situation and the violation of the federal, state and local laws. Lawful searches of individuals, possessions or vehicles according to policy & statute. Completion of paperwork including daily activity report in Excel, citations & warnings, detailed arrest reports, tow sheets, yellow tags, property inventory forms, DUI reports, implied consent forms, booking sheets for Dakota, Washington and Ramsey counties and other hard copy forms as required by the department. I maintained issued firearms & equipment including tactical rifle, service pistol, Taser, chemical, baton, cuffs and all uniforms & duty gear. Maintain professional appearance in uniform & attitude while having positive, respectful, tactful and constructive contact with the motoring public to change behavior. I utilized verbal judo daily with the public as well when questioning behavior. Squad emergency equipment including lights, sirens, PBT, tint meter, radar, Lidar, onboard computer (Dell Toughbook), 800 MHz and analog radios and scanners, digital camera, CJIS, DVS, RMS, I-Leads and DPS systems, RCA2000 checks, online and computerized statute resources. In addition, I received training in the use of the Intoxilyzer from the BCA, Taser, PIT technique and use, riot and crowd control, identification of controlled substances, hazardous materials and the use of chemical deterrents. I am also a First Responder with the Hepatitis B shot series.
