The UJT is typically placed above a mill, bit or nozzle and below the motor. The tool string is then deployed into the well, and the pumps are activated while it is RIH. At this time, 100% of flow is diverted upward at a 45-degree angle creating a jetting force that aids the tools to naturally trudge forward pulling the BHA. The pulling force created by the UJT allows for longer laterals to be achieved than ever before.While running in the well, if a restriction is encountered, the tool shifts open and the majority of all flow is directed below the tool through the mill, bit, or nozzle. At that point, the milling or washing occurs like a standard operation performed today.As the restriction is milled, drilled, or washed away, there is no more force stopping the tool, and immediately the tool moves back into jet position and all flow is directed back up to the well at a 45-degree angle in reverse jetting fashion.The UJT is Patent Pending.www.thrusterenergy.com
