I am the Director of Outdoor Education at London Youth, where I harness over 30 years of experience in outdoor education, youth work, and community-focused interventions. A passionate advocate for environmental stewardship and inclusivity, I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to the transformative benefits of the outdoors.With a rich background working in outdoor centres across the UK, including the Lake District and the Southwest of England, I have also had the privilege of leading expeditions worldwide, from Ghana and India to Nepal, Belize, and Central America. These experiences have deepened their commitment to connecting young people with nature and fostering personal growth through adventure.I have spent 3 years at The Bridge Project taking it through its next phase, working with its services users, staff and volunteers and the community to position it as the go to organisation for working with vulnerable adults and other community groups. Driving its growth, capital works and organisational restructure. Seeking new opportunities and challenging the norm.Previously as Director of community Enterprises for YMCA Dulverton Group, I was responsible for running and developing community enterprise and outdoor education provision across the groups different facilities. I also led on capital projects over seeing their development from disused derelict buildings to award winning community venues. I was also asked to advise the DforE on the implementation of the Opportunity Area.As a dyslexic individual, I celebrate neurodiversity and uses my journey to inspire others. I am also an accomplished author, team dynamics expert, outdoor educator, coach, and public speaker. With a strong focus on empowering young people and communities, I am passionate about providing the tools and platforms necessary for individuals to realise their full potential. Excited about this new chapter with London Youth, I look forward to making a lasting impact in the lives of those they serve.
