There aren't many bartender-turned-developers searching for software engineer positions, which will beg the question: "Why give up mixology to become a programmer?"The COVID-19 pandemic left me underemployed and interested in a career change to a field that offers new challenges and more job security, so I took the advice of many friends and family who work in software development. A brief venture into self-education via TeamTreehouse quickly convinced me that software engineering is something I would enjoy, and I fully committed via a certificate program at Wake Technical. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn.Having recently finished with a 4.0 GPA, working in languages like JavaScript and especially Python, I'm now hoping to find a role where I can immediately contribute my extensive soft skills to a team while being able to learn and grow as an engineer.
