I fell in love with journalism when I was 12 and have pursued it ever since. I joined my high school newspaper as soon as I could and soon became section editor for the opinion and features sections. When I came to UNC, my dream school, I knew that journalism was my path. I took classes in traditional writing and reporting, editing, photography, and website creation and design. I believe that local journalism is more important than ever, and I have had the opportunity to write articles about and photograph local figures, like Chris Ivy, the Durham Bulls scorekeeper, programs, like the Double Bucks program in Durham, and politics, like the bond referendum in Wake county for $141 million towards renovating and expanding public libraries.I am a driven and passionate individual hoping to continue to learn and grow from whatever life brings my way. I'd love to do a mixture of foreign correspondence, global news, and local news writing, reporting, and photography. I'm excited for what the future holds!
