The tests and early sequences Dave animated showed Paul as a believable, realistic character.  The animation was rich and entertaining. Those early scenes provided a solid point of reference for the rest of the animators on top of being a bit intimidating!  After that Dave didn't rest on his laurels (no pun intended)! He kept pushing the character more and more, literally until the final shot was delivered, and I think you can see the results on the screen. His attitude with me and the rest of the team was always encouraging and positive,  working with him was a real pleasure and I hope that I'll have the opportunity to do that again in the future."
