Chair of the Education Committee, and a member of the Planning and Economic Development and housing Committee, the Quality of Life and Public Safety Committee, and the Parks, Public Works, and the Environment Committee. Led Council's initiative to improve the operations and efficiency of the city administration.

I was responsible for overseeing the agency’s contract compliance activities for 60+ programs that work to alleviate poverty and empower low-income families in the Greater Waterbury region. I oversaw auditing each of these programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as evaluated program effectiveness against best practice standards and agency policy that is focused on helping families permanently move out of poverty. My evaluation of the agency’s the Learn and Earn program yielded an improved recruitment effort, which led to attaining and exceeding program target outcomes. My investigation and audit of gift card use by programs resulted in improved policies and procedures that benefited customers and protected the agency’s finances. I also work to bring and disseminate modern management best practices to the agency and its staff. Such practices have included Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA), Results-based Accountability (RBA) and Lean Leadership.

Staffed the Committee and ensured all proposed legislation was properly filed and that Committee meetings and Public Hearings were organized per the wishes of the Committee Co-Chairs.

Responsible for statewide Results-Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) implementation, and incorporating ROMA practices into the CAFCA re-branding effort. Other responsibilities including providing Introduction to ROMA training, facilitating statewide implementation meetings, arranging technical assistance and consultation, and providing on-site consultation at all of our member agencies. I am a nationally certified trainer of ROMA and have trained more than 500 community action agency employees on ROMA content and procedures. Developed outcome measures and metrics for new agency programs. ROMA implementation duties included deployment of information management systems used to track and measure outcome data

Shared executive director responsibilities for entire organization, a coalition of ten parent agencies. I interacted with parents and families from all backgrounds and neighborhoods of Hartford on a regular basis. Responsible for strategic planning, board development, facilitating meetings, research and data collection for policy positions and advocacy, editing and producing newspaper the Voice of Hartford Parents, fundraising, grant writing, organizational management and administration.
