My roles at OSPREY required me to advise the local business community as well as my sales teams on advertising initiatives. I was expected to establish monthly and annual budgets and then develop a means to ensure my teams would achieve them. From an HR perspective, I was responsible for recruiting, training and disciplining within my own department. To this end, I created a "Lunch n' Learn" program, designed specifically to entice greater participation amongst the sales team in our training environment. I was twice recognized by the OCNA (Ontario Community Newspaper Association) for my creativity and ingenuity in developing new revenue streams.When challenged by upper management to both strengthen our market position and further enhance sales growth, I created completely new mediums that were designed to ensure we did not 'rob from Peter to pay Paul.' These opportunities allowed us to bring in new customers while also expand within our existing customer base as our product offering became more attractive.
