David Mills joined the nuclear industry in 1986 and has successful leadershiproles in operations, health and safety and services delivery and commercial inthe UK across the nuclear fuel cycle.He led the negotiating team that completed the acquisition of the SpringfieldsFuel Business from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority in 2010.In 2011 he was appointed to the role of Commercial Director for NuclearPower Plants in the UK. In this role he has experience in bidding as an EPCcontractor and acting as the lead negotiator in the acquisition of a stake inNuGen by Toshiba in 2014.He worked on the development of the Moorside site for the construction of 3AP1000 nuclear power power plants until this project was paused in 2017.He was appointed as the EHS&Q Director for Springfields in June 2018 wherehe has been able to apply the health and safety knowledge gained over a 30year career in the nuclear industry.Aged 57, he was a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution ofChemical Engineers.
