Developed a IT Strategy for the business that concentrating on fixing some of the key problem areas in the short term before implementing new core technology on a stable base. I reorganised the IT Department (27 staff) to reflect the business and IT strategy. This included moving from individual site based support to a centralised helpdesk and first line support.Redefined and delivered new suite of management dashboards.I championed and initiated a project to integrated the separate fabrication businesses into a single operating business.I renegotiated some of the key IT contracts including Oracle support and the Network and Communications to provide enhanced support and lower costs.Began implementation of 3 of the tactical fix solutions (Sales Force Automation CRM, Telephony, Credit Management).

I took control of a faltering £23 million programme of IT enabled business change including ensuring delivery of the following projects: A fully transactional customer self-serve website Field workforce optimisation and job scheduling system A new debt recovery system.I developed a new service availability reporting process that measured system non-availability in business terms by modelling the consequential business impacts.Produced and started delivery of a 5-year IT capital programme for the Customer Relations Division which aligned IT strategy and business strategy to optimise the existing assets and drive business efficiency. I ensured that Customer relations business plan included the benefits associated with the programme.In addition to my existing responsibilities I took over as Programme Director for a £35 million IT infrastructure programme that was not delivering to time, cost and quality. The programme includes the following elements: Virtual desktop for 4,000 users mainly delivered by a 3rd party contractor; IP telephony system for customer contact centres and general telephony; Network refresh including wide area network and local area network updates; IT infrastructure for new office building.Development of Customer Relationship Management and overall customer IT strategy leading to inclusion of £30m line item in medium term capital programme.Development and launch of customer focused digital strategy to align with overall customer engagement and contact strategy.
