Initiated a major cost and productivity benchmarking study involving six mines. Managed a dragline performance improvement programme resulting in significant annual cost savings.

Norwich Park Mine

Responsible for the planning activities of five draglines in a single pit that experienced complex coal blending, in addition to providing day to day support for the mining departmentpreparing short term mining plans and coordinating shift supervisors. During this period obtained a Qld Mine Manager's Certificate (limited to open cut coal). As schedulingengineer, was responsible for planning all aspects of the mining operation within a twelve month time frame. Built simulation models to analyse and optimise the dozer stripping andoverburden drilling processes. Identified and implemented a major operational improvement initiative. As the long term planning engineer was responsible for preparation of life of mineplans.

Gained valuable experience in many of the mining engineering roles including Coal Quality Engineer, Drill & Blast Engineer, Draglines Engineer and Pre-Strip Engineer.
