Serve as the State's Lead Planner for State-Wide planning activities., which transcend local jurisdictional and regional geographic boundaries. Developing plans that consist of analyzing hazards of all types, studying and recommending possible mitigation measures, assessing response capabilities and preparing appropriate response and recovery strategies. Serves as an adviser to the Planning Section Emergency Program Manager, the Operations Support Branch Emergency Program Manager, and the Director providing advice and recommendations on all-hazards community planning programs and activities. This position is responsible for managing staff, programs, and activities within the Community Planning Unit.

Serves as the State lead for All-Hazards Resiliency Planning in the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM). Serves as an adviser to the Planning Section Emergency Program Manager, the Operations Support Branch Emergency Program Manager, and the Director providing advice and recommendations on all-hazards community resiliency programs and activities. This position is responsible for managing staff, programs, and activities within the All-Hazards Resiliency Unit.

Develops strategic fire suppression, rescue or other emergency response plans as an Initial Incident Commander.Operates a variety of equipment, apparatus, tools, hoses, appliances, ladders, rescue equipment, etc.Provides leadership, supervision, and guidance to assigned on-call and full-time staff.Assists others in evaluation of performance of subordinate employees.Reviews, completes and files reports; maintains training an attendance records.Implements tactical emergency operations as a crew leader.Makes management decisions during emergency and non-emergency operations and functions.Reviews and ensures compliance with department standard operating procedures, guidelines and policies.Develops and maintains an inventory management program for all tools and equipment.Ensures that apparatus and equipment is properly cared for, fully operational, cleaned, and returned to service after emergency operations or training exercises.Assists in the development and delivery of training exercises and programs.Researches, recommends and purchases equipment and supplies for departmental use.Participates in the inspection of buildings and other structures in fire prevention programs.Assists with the implementation and delivery of public education.Performs related duties.
