Vertex Precision Manufacturing is a growing Canadian leader in the vertically integrated supply of finished small machined parts for Aerospace, Satellite and Defense customers. The CIO role is to Lead IT, Engineering and Organizational change projects, integrating business system and methods in a Manufacturing 4.0 solution.

Manufacturing consultant to an aerospace parts manufacturer to assist them in achieving 2-fold capacity increase. Specifying and implementing a factory wide control system with ERP integration and providing training and mentoring to management and shop floor personnel.

Responsible for all product development and engineering, taking ideas from paper to reality to deliver a finished product. Working with a multi-discipline development team, both in-house and contract, on all aspects of development, from Software, Firmware and IT infrastructure through to Mechanical design and Manufacturing.

Working as an independent engineering consultant on a variety of projects from new and novel concept development, through to development, prototyping, design and build for clients in Canada and the USA.

Managing a team to develop new and custom designed pharmaceutical processing equipment for size reduction and liquids processing. Significantly enhanced the design and performance of existing products through innovative design and computer control. Worked closely with several major pharmaceutical companies on custom design for inert atmosphere, glove box and explosion proof designs.

Leading and training projects of organizational change. Working at all levels of the company to secure peoples involvement and ensure significant improvement in production efficiency. Focusing on team-working, flexibility and the enhancement of people’s skills through training and coaching.

Development and implementation of a methodology aimed at raising and sustaining asset performance in Unilevers’ European detergents, foods and personal products business. Developed, taught and facilitated Line Performance Improvement (LPI) training courses for managers and operators with methods and techniques for team working, production efficiency analysis/improvement and fast changeover. Facilitated and supported the roll-out of LPI projects cross Europe, achieving significant cost savings.
