I have been involved in photography in some form or another since I attended Bowie High School in 1968. I learned photography and darkroom techniques throughout my high school years and was doing work for hire before graduating in 1971. By then, I had constructed a home darkroom that included color printing capabilities and had started providing custom photo printing services to other photographers by 1972. I quickly outgrew the limited capabilities and experience my home darkroom provided and in 1973 began working for a large commercial photo laboratory called Bara Photographic. I worked my way through several different departments, learning new skills along the way. I left Bara in 1977 to work with a photographer as his lab technician and helper. Together in the Spring of 1977, we started a home based photo processing lab called Color Unlimited. I took over the operation in late 1977 and moved it into it's first commercial location. I ran Color Unlimited for fourteen years, moving three times and expanding with each change in location. Color Unlimited closed in 1991, and I found myself back at the beginning and working out of my home again. United Photo was born that year and for nearly two years, my wife Fran and I ran the business from our home before moving the operation to it's current retail location in Beltsville, Maryland. Together with our friend and partner Robin Wright, we have been providing area photographers and businesses with high quality lab and imaging services since 1993.Specialties: Photographic experience includes working with all forms of photographic printing and processing methods, color correction, image enhancement plus more than fifteen years experience with digital imaging technology. I have worked extensively with the capture and reproduction of various types of fine art through the Giclee process.
