RGB LAN is a yearly, 300 seat video-game event that supports local charitable organizations. We provide the attendees with network and power infrastructure so they can bring their own equipment in order to participate in various tournaments.While leading the RGB LAN team, these are my primary responsibilities:- Design the event layout with input from every staff member to ensure the event not only works for our attendees, but our staff members as well.- Ensure that all technical leads are sharing pertinent information to properly deploy the network topology, tournament servers, check-in systems, and online broadcasts.- Organize and oversee project progress and utilize Google Workspace to maintain project documentation.- Interface with charities and other external organizations to coordinate their involvement.- Conduct contract negotiations with venues and partner organizations.

Denver, Colorado, United States

Hired to be the primary event designer and one of the operations managers for the ETHDenver 2023 event. EthDenver is a yearly technical conference held in Denver Colorado, which hosts 15,000+ attendees and over 150 sponsors. The event runs for 10 days and spans multiple venues scattered around north Denver.While working for ETHDenver, these were my primary responsibilities:- Oversee the individual project managers for 40% of the show’s activations, making sure they maintain their budgets and adhere to all deadlines.- Maintain the budget (in Google Sheets) for the venue, security, and construction portions of the event.- Design the event floor plans (in AutoCAD) and create the security, electrical, and construction execution plans.- Source and negotiate with external vendors to provide various services for the event, including: sponsor management, equipment rental, and security services.

I started as a volunteer at DreamHack (now ESL FACEIT Group) in 2016 when DreamHack first came to the US. Over the next 6 years I went from volunteer, to volunteer manager, to contractor, and ultimately to Operations Manager. I repeatedly proved that I was ready to conquer new challenges and was continually rewarded with higher responsibilities.During my time at DreamHack, these were my primary responsibilities:- Utilized Asana to improve the project workflow to better meet the needs of internal stakeholders and allow upper management to better oversee progress.- Designed floor plans for the US DreamHack Festivals, based on the requirements of over a dozen internal stakeholders and departments.- Planned and executed event construction, overseeing 50+ contracted workers and third-party supervisors in a self-designed hierarchy.- Sourced and negotiated with external vendors to provide equipment and services for internal stakeholders.- Acted as the primary point of contact for the venue and security contractor to ensure services were delivered accurately and on time.

LANFest is a volunteer run, national non-profit organization that builds healthy communities through gaming. I volunteered for them for about two years before I was selected by the board of directors to be LANFest's first ever, full-time paid President. During my brief tenor as President, I helped to reshape the fundamental structure of the organization to better support it's many non-profit chapters. Unfortunately, due to a prolonged family emergency, I had to unexpected step down as President, but I left the organization in the exceptionally competent and caring hands of Katie Briggs, who still runs the organization to this day.

Jacobs was my first full-time job after leaving college. While at Jacobs, I had the privilege of being mentored by Scott Tollefson, who is the most genuine and innately intelligent person that I have ever met. Scott left the company in 2018 and Jacobs just wasn't the same after that. While at Jacobs, I was spending all of my vacation time volunteering for DreamHack. Coincidentally, shortly after Scott left the company, I was offered a full-time contract at DreamHack. I made the very difficult decision to leave a well-paid engineering position and pursue my passion of creating large-scale gaming events.While at Jacobs, these were my primary responsibilities:- Utilized AutoCAD to design traction power substations for SEPTA, LIRR, NJ Transit, PATCO, and streetcar systems for Tempe, AZ and Seattle, WA.- Created electrical and signal diagrams for use by field technicians to install or refurbish traction power equipment and facilities.- Modeled electrical networks using load-flow simulation software to validate and iterate upon designs.Performed field inspections to ensure contractor’s compliance to drawings and specifications.
