Implemented electronic legal bill review process for 5 of the organizations claims operations. Realized double digit legal expense reductions the first year.in creating "Best Practices" for the IAT Group (IAT consists of 8 stand alone insurance companies).Updated the approved panel list of defense firms. Responsible for overseeing the "day-to-day" claims operations. Harco National Insurance Company is a commercial auto insurance carrier. It insures auto and truck dealerships & over the road motor carriers.I was responsible for hiring and training a claims staff that handled property, liability, work comp, products, and firist party claims for insureds in 49 states.Worked with reinsurers, law firms, and claims vendors to resolve claims. Held monthly meetings with entire claims department to discuss results. Concentrated on changes in state laws, claim reserves, company financials, and legal matters that could impact claims handling.Member of the Advisory Council for the Katie School of Insurance at Illinois State University.Traveled with the company's Regional Sales Managers to insured dealerships to discuss claims matters.Particpated as a member of the Claims User Group with our Claims system vendor in Cloumbia, SC.
