Introduced Click & Collect and Nominated Day delivery.Implemented a biometric Time and Attendance system, linked to the payroll systems.Rolled out Truckstops Transport Management System & EPOD for the Transport division.Replaced the legacy AS400 Customs Bond systems with Ricardo from Grosvenor. Introduced ITIL based SupportWorks Service Desk system. Replaced existing reporting with Oracle Hyperion/Brio, including dashboards.Launched the LF logistics UK website where working with and external Web providor, designed much of the “look” and collated the content which became the template for the worldwide web site. Technology in use: SQL Server, iSeries, DB2, Dot.net, Linux, JavaScript, VB script, Oracle Hyperion, Atlas EDI, MPLS. Implemented a sophisticated RDT Warehousing system leading to 50% Headcount reduction.Executed a £5m, 2 year project to standardise the various ERP systems throughout Europe. Set up a single consolidated Data Centre and removed 5 local data centres in Spain, France, Germany, Holland and Italy. Re-motivated an inherited dispirited and unfocused IT Systems team, creating a credible, approachable, productive, and respected department. Provided visibility for the 1st time of the key numbers that enabled us to re-shape the business, including reducing Inventory by 70% whilst at the same time raising Customer Service levels. Implemented a Telesales/CRM solution (Saleslogix) bringing together the entire customer facing areas of the business, reducing duplication and arming both the inside and outside sales teams, with up to date intelligence on their customers and market. Successfully and seamlessly completed the IT element of the high risk consolidation of the 4 Continental Europe warehouses into a single third Party logistics site in Holland. Implemented a common Chart of Accounts to 10 companies across Europe while at the same time ensuring all country specific legal reporting requirements were met. Introduced hardware/software standards in order to improve security, efficiency, and reduce Total Cost of Ownership. Implemented a Frame Relay Network to 11 sites and later replaced this with a low cost, flexible, resilient MPLS solution.Introduced the CorVu Business Intelligence tool across Europe to consolidate reporting.Implemented the Demand Solutions Requirements Planning product to improve Supply chain efficiency from both our own Factories and external suppliers. After starting as an Analyst/Programmer ultimately was responsible for all IT activities for the multi-site UK manufacturing businesses & headed the European Development team at the Sheffield European Data Centre. Sole European representative on the Stanley Works Global IT project team challenged to streamline systems throughout the corporation and given personal responsibility for the ERP consolidation required in the 17 separate European businesses, across all 11 Stanley Divisions. Key Achievements:Played a major role in the set up of the European IT Shared Service Centre on a single IBM AS/400, and the decommissioning of numerous existing computer systems and software across Europe, providing the platform for existing and newly acquired businesses to achieve the new Stanley business model of 1, not many, European businesses. Through my Development team successfully rolled out both bespoke, and package (SSA BPCS, JBA INFOR), solutions to large and small businesses in the UK, Holland, France, Germany, Italy and Eastern Europe. Often projects were in parallel and complex.Sole Systems member of both the UK and European cross functional teams to re-design logistics for the European business and its 47 Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales sites.Implemented EDI to a point where 50% of UK business came in through that medium. Our use of EDI was market leading at the time. Led the systems Integration of both external acquisitions, and sister companies, both in the UK and on the continent, onto standard Applications A vibrant, varied and challenging period where the skills of the respected Sheffield IT Team, led by myself, moved from supporting the UK Manufacturing business, to a group operating at a pan European, multi site, multi platform, multi ERP, level with 000’s of users. Reports: UK 1 Project manager, 3 Project Leaders, 9 Analyst programmers & up to 5 concurrent Contractors.Europe 1 IT manager & 3 developers in France plus 1 IT manager in Italy.
