The Senior Director of Production is a senior level position charged with oversight of all production related activities and labor negotiations in the New Victory Theater, Duke on 42nd Street and New 42nd Street Studios. The position manages a 7 person production team and a 20+ IATSE Local 1 crew working to present a season of 16+ international productions in a wide variety of forms as well as a summer dance festival presenting 12 NYC based Dance Companies. Additionally, the Senior Director of Production plans, develops, and executes production oriented capitol funding projects to maintain the production facilities and systems of the organization. New 42 was created by the City and State of New York to breathe new life into 7 historic theaters on 42nd street and thus revitalize the block by creating unique innovative cultural institutions and by building a home for nonprofit arts organizations in Times Square. The New 42nd Street ignited a transformation that makes Times Square the iconic and family-friendly entertainment destination it is today.New 42 is the parent company to three projects: The New Victory Theater, a performing arts theater devoted to kids and families; the New 42nd Street Studios, a state-of-the-art, 10-story performing arts complex; and The Duke on 42nd Street, a black box theater available on a rental basis to nonprofit and commercial performing arts organizations.

David has experience in lighting all forms of performing arts and has also had experience as a production manager for regional theatre and corporate events. Recent projects include the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival 2014 Rep Season, Gulfshore Playhouse, and Seven Angels Theatre. David spent six months in Singapore as the Associate Lighting Designer and Show Lighting Project Manager for the Revenge of the Mummy Attraction at Universal Studio’s Singapore. In 2004 he won the award for Best Lighting Design for Sarasota Magazine for the design of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well Living in Paris at the Sarasota Players. Managed various lighting design projects for busy Lighting Design firm. Responsibilities included writing initial budget proposals for client approval, project scheduling, client coordination of installation schedule and allocation of resources, ordering of new lighting equipment, arranging rental of lighting equipment and grip trucks, final project closeout of actual expenses to ensure proper client invoicing.

In this role I was charged with supervision all lighting projects for the company. This included broadcast, themed entertainment and themed environments. Duties included overall scheduling, budgeting, and resource management. Lighting design and equipment quotations. Design and drafting services and client communication regarding each project. As the Project Manager of Live Events I was main point of contact for the clients from beginning to end of each project. This division focused on corporate events/trade show presentations. Duties included overall scheduling and allocation of resources. Budgeting and coordination with production to meet client's expectation and budget. Also responsible for keeping each project profitable.

In this role I supervised the installation of the Show Lighting System for the Revenge of the Mummy attraction at Universal Studios Singapore. This required 6 months of onsite time to coordinate all show lighting design elements. Supervision of local Electrical Contractor and Local Theatrical Electrician Crew to locate all lighting circuits, fixtures, data points and control. Receive all lighting equipment via container ship and organized installation plan in conjunction with all other project team members.

As the Production Manager I am responsible for the overall operation of the production department. I ensure all departments have everything they need to do their job so they may produce the highest quality work. I maintain the entire production budget, master calendar and all designer and crew assignments.

As the production manager at Northern Stage I was responsible for the entire production budget of a LORT D Theatre. Specific duties included contracting all production staff, designers, and overhire, creating and maintaining the production calendar, and advising the Artistic Director on improvements to be made in the production department to name a few.

As Resident Lighting Designer I designed the majority of the productions within the main stage season as well as leant advice and guidance on the direction of the lighting department for the company.

As a Lighting Designer for Seaside Music Theatre I worked collaboratively with the entire production team on each show. This included conceptual discussions all the way thru the realization of the production. Provided working drawings and paperwork for the lighting design to be realized in the venue. Provided onsite direction of the focusing of all lighting fixtures and programming of all lighting cues. Worked with the director and artistic director to flesh out the design thru-out the production week.

As Resident Lighting Designer I was in charge of designing the lighting for all productions as budget conscious as possible while helping to build the overall production quality of each show. I helped to design and renovate the lighting system of the Universal Orlando Theatre as well as make equipment recommendations based on the most current updated equipment available within the industry.

Responsibilities included overall budget and schedule management of the lighting department of a 393 seat proscenium theatre. Maintained all lighting equipment and systems. Coordinated with each production's lighting designer to ensure they had accurate inventory information. Executed the lighting design's for each show to include hanging, circuiting, focusing, color and template orders, and programming thru the opening of each production.
