About Dave Van Ness

Until recently, Executive Director of a small suburban Chamber of Commerce. Office staff of two, approximately 250 members and an annual budget of about $200,000. This was a challenging position requiring the effective use and management of many volunteers and a board of 13 directors. We brought the accounting up to meet a rigorous standard and improved the reporting, making it easier for the Board to understand the current financial position. Adding new events was an important accomplishment. During my tenure we added Community Recycling Day, Non-profit Day, and Casino Night. In all, we produced 40-50 events a year from monthly mixers to the 20,000+ 4th of July Street Fair.Specialties: Not-for-profit management,senior executive, accounting and budgeting expertise, twenty+ years of software design experience, taught Dale Carnegie courses for four years, hired and trained over 200 sales employees.
