I have worked professionally in medical informatics since the early 1980's, primarily in MUMPS, however I have extensive experience in several other languages and systems as well. I am familiar with several larger systems including VistA, CHCS, and Laboratory Information Systems. I am interested in providing robust systems that support medical practice and enhance health by providing useful information at the point of care. I believe disciplined use of ontologies, controlled vocabularies, and taxonomies can provide an important part of this goal.
