Communications & Liaison Officer - London UnitCasara (Civil Air Search And Rescue Association) Jun 2022 - Oct 2022London, Ontario, CanadaI have been appointed Communications & Liaison Officer for the London Unit of CASARA. This national not-for-profit organization is made up of volunteer pilots, navigators, spotters and support personnel. CASARA units assist the Canadian Forces, Rescue Coordination Centre, and emergency services, with searching for lost or overdue aircraft or boats. Emergency Response And Preparedness CoordinatorUniversity Of Western Ontario Dec 1998 - Oct 2004London, Canada AreaIn implementing the University of Western Ontario emergency management program, I demonstrated my abilities in leadership, team-building, facilitation, presentation/organizational skills, decision-making and communications. Presentations to internal organizations and groups helped them to better understand their obligations and responsibilities in relation to the emergency preparedness program. Presentations and training continue to be an important part of my current position for community groups, committee meetings and senior management. The Incident Command System has become widely used and is quickly becoming standard across North America. I was responsible for introducing the concept of incident command to UWO and arranging with the former London Fire Chief to implement a joint incident command training program at the University.
