I reported to the President and COO, promoted to Production Manager to manage all aspects of the manufacturing process, including scheduling, steel procurement and cutting, fabrication, blasting, painting, electrical panel assembly, shop wiring, mechanical, hydraulic, fuel system assembly and testing. I maintained and optimized targets for safety, productivity, operational efficiency and quality. Signature Achievements: I saved the company money in time by moving wiring installation tasks inhouse under challenging timelines. I collaborated with the Engineering Manager to generate effective drawings and create systems to train the team how to complete this work. I brought the assembly team and test tradesmen together to train them on the revised methods and drawings. This project was successfully achieved with minimal impact on the production schedule or the customer. I persuaded the senior leadership team to approve a budget to create an inhouse solution for the design, build and implementation of a system to remove the buildup of sand and debris from the melting tank of the snowmelters, essentially eliminating the multiple shutdown periods for sand removal in a working shift. In leading this team, this solution accomplished several outcomes: • Created faster and more efficient-working snowmelters, while adding profit to each.• Saved the customer considerable valuable time by reducing the shutdown period with the added benefit of improving safety quality.

I was recruited into Trecan based on past performance in a previous company and hired to assist with the design of the next generation of snowmelters for an existing customer on a very tight schedule. I was responsible for the design and coordination of research and development (R&D) and non-standard design projects, including incinerators, natural gas vaporizers and new snowmelter designs. • I restored production issues so that products were delivered to the customer on time by introducing a quality assurance system to give focus on the production process, reduce errors and hold employees accountable for the production process. As a result of the success of this early quality assurance process, I was later recruited by senior management to set up the ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Program. • I positively impacted the sales with new customers because the ISO 9001 program was required by some customers as well as being very popular. Customers included the US Military and the US Federal Aviation Authority, among others. • I authored Inspection Test Plans for all individual jobs, which gave further instruction above the drawings that were based on best practices, including a multiple signoff for each employee. This process reduced the likelihood of making expensive mistakes and improved accountability—which was welcomed by the teams.

This company designed, built and sold wind turbines with 10 people in the Vermont office and 5 in the Halifax office. I traveled internationally to install turbines in Canada, US, England, Scotland and Russia. I was recruited into this company for previous work performance at Fabco to operate and troubleshoot and commission wind turbines as well as sourcing critical parts. • I successfully installed and commissioned wind turbines in a rural work camp (in collaboration with a junior engineer) in Siberia under extremely challenging communications and political conditions. This effort led to successfully protecting the reputation of the company due to uncontrollable conditions that held up the project.
