Team Lead, Automation PlatformPfizer Apr 2019 - May 2023New York, New York, UsLed a globally distributed team of 30 engineers delivering an event driven automation platform for IT operations.Leveraged AWS serverless technologies including Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, API Gateway and Fargate to build a resilient and flexible platform. Grew the platform to over 150 loosely coupled services.The platform and tooling delivered annual cost savings for the organisation in excess of 1.5MM USD net.High test coverage and efficient CI/CD pipelines resulted in 3000+ production deployments per week. Use of GitHub dependabot resulted in fleet wide security patching taking less than 1 hour. Transitioned from AWS Chalice to “pure” lambda functions, deployed using Terraform and Github Actions. Built a team culture centred around innovation, high performance, participation and learning. The change failure rate was so low we stopped tracking it.Managed a GitHub enterprise account with 5000+ users. Administered an Atlassian cloud account with ~2000 users.Recruited 25 contract team members including Software Engineers. Also led 100+ interviews and involved in initiating hire requests, preparing job descriptions, reference checking and on-boarding. Identified consultant to conduct review of hiring process to ensure diversity in candidates and hiring.
