I develop and coordinate PHARM 370 - Personal & New Venture Financial Management, a course for 3rd year pharmacy students that aims to improve the financial literacy of upcoming pharmacy graduates in order to help them build the confidence and knowledge to optimally manage their financial affairs and assess business and career opportunities that may arise. PHARM 370 has been designed to provide students with the knowledge, tools, and experience to help them structure their personal and professional finances in order to start them on the road to financial success.

As a community based relief pharmacist I work with various pharmacies across the GTA and Southwestern Ontario on a part time and temporary basis. As the pharmacy manager I was responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the dispensary and front shop to ensure we provided the highest quality care to our patients. This included managing our team of three pharmacy assistants, verifying the safety and efficacy of all dispensed prescriptions, performing medication reviews, and educating patients on medication related care and how to navigate the Canadian healthcare system.

While working as a pharmacy student I was responsible for receiving, filling and dispensing prescriptions, coordinating third party billing and preparing prescription compounds including creams, suspensions, and capsules as well as a variety of other dosage forms. In addition, I conducted MedsCheck reviews in partnership with the pharmacist, counseled patients on their prescription and non-prescription medications, and planned clinic days on various topics. I was also responsible for promoting the pharmacy by managing our website and social media platforms and designing print material. Upon becoming a licensed pharmacist I have took on the role of Operations and Strategy Consultant in order to help transition the pharmacy into a more clinical services focused environment to improve patient care.

As the Head Coach of the program I am responsible for developing the session and seasonal program framework, hiring and mentoring coaches, organizing and running meets, and ensuring the programs meets its established outcomes as well as the needs of our swimmers.

Over the past 10 seasons I have worked with swimmers across the entire swim club from beginner swimmers to elite level athletes. I have had the opportunity to assist more senior coaches, lead my own groups, manage teams of coaches, and design programming for various levels. I currently act in a supporting role for newer coaches in order to help with their education and development.

As the director of the ROW Summer Swim Camp I developed and implemented weekly schedules, in and out of water activities, and budget reports to ensure the success of the camps. I also interviewed and hired my own camp staff in order to form a dynamic and functional team of coaches each summer.

My main responsibilities were to screen for and recommend appropriate venous thromboembolism prophylaxis in the emergency department, conduct medication reconciliation, and identify non-formulary medications. I also conducted medication reviews with patients in the renal dialysis centre and made adjustments to therapy in conjunction with the pharmacist and physician. As an additional project I developed a presentation on medications used in diabetes management and delivered it to nursing staff throughout the hospital.

While I worked at Agro Health I have had the chance to teach international pharmacy graduates about effective communication, the patient care process, and other aspects of pharmacy practice. I acted as a standardized patient in mock OSCE scenarios and provided feedback to our students on how to counsel patients more effectively. I also had the opportunity to review pharmacy related research, assist in preparing clinical summaries and drug submissions for our clients, helped plan and design an educational brochure for patients, and conducted a clinical practice research project.

As a lifeguard I maintained a safe environment in the pool area by identifying and minimizing risks and hazards. As a swimming lessons instructor I worked with students and community members to help them improve their aquatic proficiency and level of fitness.
